Ordering and Payment

Ordering Your West Valley

A simple guide to reserving your build, choosing your specification and paying for your guitar.

I don't ask for full payment upfront on built-to-order guitars. Instead, payments are made in stages as your guitar moves through the build process. This means you're not paying the full cost of an instrument months before it's completed, while giving me the funds I need at each stage to order materials and carry out the work.

1. RESERVE YOUR BUILD — £500

A £500 reservation secures your place in the build queue.

You don't need to have your specification decided at this stage. Simply choose the model you'd like and reserve your build through the website.

Your £500 reservation is deducted from the final price of your guitar — it is not an additional charge.

The £500 build slot reservation is non-refundable, subject to your applicable consumer cancellation rights.

2. CHOOSE YOUR SPECIFICATION

Once your build is reserved, I'll contact you personally to discuss your guitar.

We'll work through your colour, pickups, hardware, timbers and other details together. Each model has a standard specification and starting price, with custom upgrades available.

Any changes that affect the price will always be agreed with you before your final specification is confirmed.

3. CONFIRM YOUR BUILD — 50%

Once we've agreed the specification, I'll confirm the final price and your place in the build schedule.

At this point, you'll top up your £500 reservation to 50% of the total price of the guitar.

Nothing goes into production until you're happy with the specification and price.

4. YOUR BUILD BEGINS — 25%

When your guitar reaches the front of the queue and work is ready to begin, a further 25% payment is due.

Then the build begins.

I'll keep you updated throughout the process with photographs and progress updates from the workshop.

5. FINAL PAYMENT — 25%

The remaining 25% balance is due approximately two weeks before completion.

Once your guitar is finished, set up and thoroughly checked, we'll arrange collection or insured delivery.

BUILD TIMES

Typical build time is approximately 12–16 weeks, although this can vary depending on your specification and the number of guitars currently in the build queue.

I'll give you an estimated build schedule when we confirm your specification.

READY TO SHIP GUITARS

Guitars marked Ready to Ship are already built and available to purchase outright for immediate dispatch or collection. The staged payment process above only applies to Built to Order guitars.
